
Stratasys Genisys xs 3d printer Rebuild
A old cartridge based 3d printer was donated to the shop in near perfect condition. only problem was that it was so out of date that the system wasn't even close to what we have today. But the frame and body was build way overkill. solid aluminum structure with a steel body and belt driven system. Also it cost $70,000 when it was first purchased 15 years ago. Mega Prusa I3 to Core XY Conversion
I had originally build a mega prusa i3 but being so large the bed just shakes the table and produced horrible prints. I had found the same person that designed the prusa moved onto this larger more stable version. I am taking his design and changing it so its a swap with the parts to save money as well as this will make this printer incredibly large,stable,fast and hope to have a dual extrusion installed. Backpack steampunk 3D printer
Starting a new project based on the Prusa I3 design, but I wanted something that could be moved easily after having taken my old thing-o-matic on a trip. Goals are to have it sturdy, light weight with removable back straps and be able to carry a roll of filament with you.
